ACLES invites registrations for their XII International Conference "New Horizons for Language Centres: Languages and Technology”, to be held from 16-18 September 2021, organised and hosted by the Universidad de Murcia in Spain.
The cornerstone of the conference is the influence of technology on language teaching and assessment; more specifically, the different aspects of this influence and its relationship with the internationalisation of universities, both in Spain and in other countries, will be discussed. At a time when language training and certification at university level has had to face the consequences of the pandemic, language centres have remained strongly aligned with the institutions to which they belong, demonstrating great flexibility and capacity to adapt to change.
ACLES 2021 aims to highlight how technology, which has been an integral part of language teaching and assessment for decades, has taken on an even greater role, providing avenues of action that facilitate access to learning for a greater number of learners. The conference is also intended as a forum in which to reflect on the weaknesses and strengths of the certification procedures used in Spanish universities, both with their own tests and with those designed by other institutions.
